This report has a major shortcoming science and technology activities are never in each of the countries visited broken down into their various components as the terms of reference to this report would have wished. The non-availability of these figure is part of the larger data problems which beset underdeveloped countries. Since effective and meaningful planning cannot take place without adequate and reliable data no opportunity should be missed in impressing it on various African government of the need to collect relevant and reliable data for purposed of national planning.
