Abstract
Proposal for an amendment of the terms of reference of the commission to rename UNECA. The importance which UNECA attaches to the social dimension is attested to by the establishment of the Conference of African Ministers Responsible for Human Development and by the reference to the social aspects in the very name of UNACA’s Conference of Ministers.
