Report of the second sub regional workshop on international co-operation in rural development in Africa

Abstract

The second sub regional workshop on International cooperation in Rural development in Africa was held at the palais du Marshan, Tangier, Morocco, from 9-13 September 1974. The opening of the session was addressed by H. E. Taieb Bencheikh, Secretary of State for planning and Mr. Ali Ben Abdelmoumen, Director of the ECA Sub regional office Tangier and was attended by Government representatives, representatives of private and international organizations, representatives of UN organizations and ECA officials. Reviewing the findings of the Khartoum meeting, the participants expressed full agreement subject to a few modifications with the recommendations of that conference aimd at ensuring close cooperation between governments, the United and voluntary agencies.
