The second session of the Ministerial Follow-up Committee of the Conference of Ministers responsible for economic and social development and planning was hosted by the Ministry of Cooperation and Integration in Africa in Abuja, the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, from 4 to 5 May 2000. The session was formally opened by H.E. Mr. Djibril Martins Kuye, Minister of State for Finance of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Mr. K. Y. Amoako, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), delivered a
statement at the opening ceremony of the meeting. A statement was also delivered by Mr. Franck Ofei, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Mr. Lansana Kouyate. The meeting was held at the ECOWAS.
