Abstract

The fifth in the series of African Regional Conferences on Women, the present gathering is being organized in accordance with the General Assembly resolution 45/129 of 14 December 1990 on the Implementation of the Nairobi Forward-Looking strategies for the Advancement of Women, and subsequent request by the Economic and Social Council to Regional Commissions to organize regional conferences in preparation for the Fourth World Conference on Women scheduled to take place in Beijing, China, from 4 to 15 September 1995.
