dc.description.abstractAs indicated during the discussions yesterday, the primary objective of the proposed report on Mainstreaming Gender in Governance is to generate and disseminate knowledge about the state of gender and governance in Africa. Representation and participation in decision-making structures in Africa and the development of gender sensitive national development policies are the referent points. The former because "Nowhere, is the gap between de jure and de facto equality among men and women greater than in the area of decision-making'". While the inseparable link between decision-making and policy development is self-evident.en
