The overall objective of the proposed programme of work and priorities for the biennium 2010-2011 is to assist African countries to formulate and implement the policies and programmes that will lead to sustainable economic growth and social development, with particular emphasis on poverty reduction, :is envisaged in the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), as well as the internationally agreed development goats, including those contained in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, and in the outcomes of other major United Nations conferences and international agreements.
