National report on survey activities in the United Republic of Tanzania

Abstract

This report provides an overview of the activities of the surveys and mapping Division during the past four years. The Division is one of nine that constitute the Ministry of Lands, Water, Housing and Urban Development. It is the only institution in the country that has the responsibility 'and the capacity to carry out cadastral surveys and national mapping. A wide range of maps are made for use in, for example, planning, agriculture, forestry, demography, defense, mining, hydroelectric power development and irrigation, navigation1construction engineering, fisheries geology, archaeology, taxation, communications urban development.
