Secretary-General's message on international day of the family

Abstract

Following is the text of Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali's message on the occasion of the International Day of Families. The International Day of Families is being observed today, 15 May, for the third year. The setting aside of one day every year for this observance is an important means of maintaining the momentum and interest created by the International Year of the Family (1994) and focusing on policies to address different problems and concerns of the contemporary family all over the world.
