Abstract
This edition of the Statistical Newsletter covers the period from July to December 1993, highlighting key activities and events related to statistical development in Africa. It includes a statement by the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), a press release, and a poster commemorating the fourth anniversary of African Statistics Day on 18 November. The day was celebrated simultaneously with African Development Information Day, with activities such as press releases, TV programs, colloquiums, exhibitions, and the distribution of T-shirts. The newsletter reproduces a statement by Lesotho's Minister for Information and Broadcasting, marking both occasions. A provisional list of meetings planned for 1994, staff updates, visitor lists, and a directory of statistical office directors in UNECA member states are provided. The newsletter invites contributions from African statistical services and international agencies to share updates on their activities.
