ECA Ministers met to analyse continent's acute economic problems and decided ways to tackle them. These high-ranking African officials at the conclusion of their meeting adopted a report and about forty resolutions on virtually the entire range of African economic and social development matters, spelling out and urging the adoption of measures to facilitate socio-economic advance through self-reliance, largely. There was a strong call for better prices for Africa's primary products, and increased efforts to improve and increase agriculture; to industrialize, and to promote investment and exports.
