This document is the output of the consultative mission as described above. It attempts to incorporate the ideas that were expressed in the consultations and the background documents in proposing what the broad framework of a SADC Gender Policy should entail. The document is divided into 3 sections. Section I is the introduction, Section II comprises the context and justification and is subdivided into 4 sub sections namely:
• The SADC and International policy frameworks
• The findings of the review of SADC operations and Draft Regional
• Indicative Development Plan
• The Results of Sector Gender Audits
• Views of SADC staff on issues of focus within each sector.
