Abstract
The document reports on a workshop held in Malawi (August 1-3, 1989) on the management and operation of Strategic Grain Reserves (SGR) in Eastern and Southern Africa. It discusses the establishment, management, and financial aspects of SGRs, and includes country-specific experiences from Ethiopia, Lesotho, Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, Somalia, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. The workshop aimed to improve food security through better management of grain reserves.
