Abstract

The purpose of a census is to produce reliable data on a subject. The usefulness of a census can be greatly increased through proper presentation of census facts in the census tables. Development of publication tables should be one of the very first steps taken after the decision has been made to conduct a census. The responsibility for developing the publication tables rests primarily with the subject matter specialists. In addition to providing basic data, publication tables should contain information which would provide answers to questions and point up problems.
