The Popular Participation Workshop Series No.3, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in collaboration with the Namibian Non-Governmental Organizations Forum, aimed to enhance dialogue and cooperation between the Government of Namibia and NGOs. Held from August 11 to 13, 1993, in Windhoek, the workshop gathered over 40 participants, including senior government officials and NGO leaders. The objectives included reflecting on the existing government-NGO relationship, examining interaction modalities, and identifying measures to foster trust and openness. Key sessions addressed the African Charter for Popular Participation, assessment of popular participation in development policies, and strategies for improving government-NGO relations.
