Review of the implementation of the science and technology chapter of the Lagos plan of action:

Abstract

The Lagos Plan of Action was adopted in April 1980 the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts for Science and Technology Development (IGCESTD) met in 1981, 1983 and 1984. Part I of this paper contains the information obtained from the ECA member states. It is arranged in tabular form for ease or reference. The contributions by the various organizations and agencies is given in part II of this paper. A certain amount of contraction of the information provided has been necessary to accommodate the inputs in the format used. A better understanding of the facts and trends discernable from the responses should emerge during the consideration of this paper.
