Abstract

The proposed activities of POPIN-Africa should be seen within the context of earlier population information and clearing-house activities and services of the Population Division of the ECA which has been in existence since the early 1970's. Through POPIN-Africa, these earlier activities and services are being strengthened and expanded to serve the region better. The POPIN-Africa intends to reach its targeted audience is through the periodic issuances of a bibliographic index covering all available published and unpublished documents relating to the countries of the Region.
