This report outlines the outcomes of two national training workshops organized by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and RADEV in Ethiopia (April 1994). Aimed at enhancing the capacity of local NGOs and grassroots organizations, the workshops focused on participatory development methods, including project formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and resource mobilization. Key themes included aligning projects with community needs, donor requirements, and sustainable development goals. Case studies and field visits demonstrated practical applications, emphasizing community involvement and institutional collaboration. The workshops underscored the importance of skill-building for NGOs to leverage external aid effectively and foster inclusive, locally driven development in line with the African Charter for Popular Participation.
