Résumé
Tourism in Seychelles and its Economic impact. For tourism purposes Seychelles are among the finest tropical ocean island in the World. The beauty of landscape, the size and quality of its beaches, the opportunities for swimming and other watersports match those of the best-known pacific islands and surpass the West Indian and Caribbean islands. Marketing of the Seychelles Tourism product has been carried out with considerable success, although not always in the most economical way. However, the present marketing methods carried out directly by the hotels and local tour operators do not give fully satisfactory results in respect of small and remote hotels and guest houses whose hotel capacity is not sufficiently utilized. With 49,500 foreign tourists arriving in 1976 and 569,250 nights which they spent in Seychelles tourism has already made a substantial contribution to the economy of the country.
