UNDP knowledge management workshop

Abstract

Presentation gave at UNDP workshop on ECA activities in Knowledge management. It was noted that knowledge is the essential foundation of sustainable development. Knowledge management is seen as moving away from funding physical assets to a development process that is invigorated by people's abundant ideas and inspirations. The interest of development agencies, e.g World Bank, UNDP, ECA, IDRC in knowledge management is substantive. These organizations have considerable assets - data, knowledge, and experience - that are vital components of knowledge management. The challenge is people and content not the hardware. Knowledge management cannot be built in a vacuum; it is better to start from where we are.
