The African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) together with the Government of Malawi announced the formation of a contract negotiation task team to support, Malawi’s Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, the Honorable Bright Msaka SC. The announcement was made at the conclusion of a successful workshop as part of the strengthening the capacity of African governments to negotiate transparent, equitable and sustainable contracts in extractive industries (EI) for broad-based sustainable growth and socioeconomic development project. This initiative has five beneficiary countries which include Malawi. Thirty-seven participants attended the workshop from various ministries, the Parliament, private sector organizations, civil society organizations and representatives of local communities.
