The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) organized an international conference on: Institutions, Culture and Corruption in Africa” from 13th- 15th October 2008 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Over one hundred participants attended the conference from various parts of the continent. Participants included from the public sector, academia, practitioners, civil society, diplomatic corps, regional and international organizations and other stakeholders. The conference took on a special significance as both ECA and CODESRIA were celebrating their 50th and 35th anniversary, respectively in 2008.
