A workshop for Francophone experts in Africa on the Africa Programme on Accelerated Improvement of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (APAI-CRVS, in English) organized by the Regional Support Group made up of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees will be held on November 2-6, 2015 at the Hotel Mont Febe in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The objective assigned to this workshop is to launch the implementation of the APAI-CRVS programme in Francophone countries to serve as a platform for sharing experiences in order to accelerate the implementation of the APAI-CRVS programme in these countries. the discussions and relevant recommendations which will be issued after five days of reflection will make it possible to accelerate and improve the implementation of the APAI-CRVS programme in Francophone countries, most of which are lagging behind.
