From the standpoint of African countries what could be called the more important results achieved at the fourth session of UNCTAD, which has been held at Nairobi from 3 to 31 May 1976, have been mainly in the fields of commodities, economic co-operation among developing countries, institutional arrangements within UNCTAD and, to a lesser extent, in those relating to trade with the socialist countries of eastern Europe and transfer of technology.
