Report of the mission to the Kingdom of Lesotho (29 August 9 September 1983)

Abstract

The mission was undertaken at the request of the Government of Lesotho to advise the Bureau of Statistics (BOS), Ministry of Planning Employment and Economic Affairs on the design of questionnaires and instructions for an urban income expenditure survey. Project proposals for Lesotho NHSCE were approved by Government in 1982. The survey programme was to start from August 1983, with an income-expenditure survey to be followed by other surveys from year to year. The present date for launching the survey is October 1983. Preparatory work for the survey has just started. In regard to the preparation of sample, maps for Maseru town were received by BOS from Land Survey Department only during the present mission.
