Report on a mission to Malawi (16-29 June 1984)

Abstract

A population and housing census is planned for September 1987. Part of the preparatory activities will consist of a complete up-dating of the census maps used in the 1977 enumeration; the planning and training phases of this work are due to start before the end of this year. The National Statistical Office, (NSO), therefore, request a mission by the Regional Adviser: to advise on modifications that should be made to the methodology used in the 1976-77 field mapping; to estimate field team and vehicle needs; to look into drawing office personnel requirements; and to prepare a list of cartographic equipment and supplies required for the Cartography Branch of NSO.
