Report on a mission to Sierra Leone (13 May - 11 June 1985)

Abstract

Report on a mission to Sierra Leon, the mission coincided with the pilot Census which was successfully held in 54 sample enumeration areas throughout the country from 27 – 31 may. The main trust of the mission was to assess the state of the cartographic field work and the progress made in the census Cartographic Unit since the previous mission. Detailed recommendations on ways of improving supervision and output of the Cartographic Unit were then made. The mission ended with separate round-up meetings with the Resident Representative, the Deputy Resident Representative, the Chief Census officer and the census commissioner.
