Abstract
Report on a visit to Senegal 3-20 December 1974 by L. W. St. John-Jones Regional advisor in Demographic Statistics, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. The purpose of the visit was to give any assistance possible in the preparations for the census of population planned for April 1975. The main work carried out so far has been cartographic. According to a memorandum written by the Director of the Census on 14 October 1974. Maps and lists of villages were sent into the field early in 1974, and villages were marked on the maps, hamlets were listed the numbers of population and concessions were estimated and sketches of villages were prepared.
