Abstract

During the past few years, the African railways witnessed a great deal of deterioration in their efficiency and ability to meet their traditional market demand; this deterioration continued despite the heavy investments in many of those railways. The project aims at increasing the utilization of equipment and facilities available through improved management structures and managerial practices. The project aims at introducing modern management techniques and improving channels of decision making through better training, improved structures and reliable information.
