Abstract

In this issue of "Rural Progress" there is a report on the Workshop held in Addis Ababa in December 1977 on the problems of the effective use of radio forums and radio clubs in rural Africa. In his opening address to the Workshop the Deputy Executive Secretary of ECA Mr. David Ganao, reminded the participants about the role of the radio being wrongly thought of as that of animation and mobilization of people only, and that in strictly educational and training terms its role was regarded as being marginal.
