Abstract
UNICEF develops education in Southern Somalia after many years of almost total neglect, the primary education systems in the Lower Jubba Valley are starting to develop, giving thousands of children the opportunity for formal schooling. One of the most successful new schools in Kismayo is the Bilaal School, which was opened two months ago by members of the local community and is supported by the united Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
