UNDP forum on Asian-African development opens in Indonesia

President Soeharto of Indonesia, in his inaugural address at the opening ceremony, in Jakarta on 12 December-1994, of the Asia Africa Forum, said the economic cooperation among developing countries was one of the keys to the success of the development of Asian and African countries, especially today, when It South “South-south Cooperation" between countries of the southern hemisphere had not been fully materialized. President Soeharto said South-South Cooperation was a strategic alternative that should be developed and intensified, on account of the similar conditions of developing countries, particularly among African and Asian nations.
