Abstract
The message by the president of the General assembly, Samuel R. Insanely, marking world environment Day, delivered at headquarters on 5 June, at a world Environment Day concert sponsored by the United Nations Environment programme (UNEP). The president on his message said that it seems especially appropriate that, in this the international year of the family, the UNEP has chosen as its theme for this day, ”One Earth, one Family”. We are now at a point in our history when both the earth and the human family are experiencing significant stress, which could jeopardize the future of both. World Environment Day is an opportunity for humanity at large to heighten our care level for the earth and for each other.
