The security council this evening extended the mandate of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda (UNAMIR) until 29 July 1994, On the condition that it will review the situation there within the next six weeks if the Secretary-General informs it that the transitional institutions provided for under the Arusha Peace Agreement have not been made and that insufficient progress has been made for implementation of phase II of UHAMIR' s activities. Through its unanimous adoption of Resolution 909 (1994), the Council regretted the delay in implementing the, Arusha Agreement and recalled that continued support for the mission would depend on its full and prompt implementation by the parties. It urged the parties to resolve their latest differences without delay, with a view to immediately establishing the required transitional institutions .
