Energy review in Africa

Abstract

This general overview or the current situation gives regarding energy resources in Africa and of the production and consumption of commercial energy for the period 1980-1983. Energy problems remain serious in African countries despite a recent weakening in world energy prices. There is a continuing need for assistance to member, States to help them to establish a coherent energy strategy, to prepare and obtain funding for urgent and high-priority investment projects and to identify the most pressing requirements for technical assistance.
