Résumé
This document assesses the implementation of population policies in socio-economic development planning in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania during the early 1980s. It evaluates the effectiveness of these policies in addressing high population growth, fertility rates, and spatial distribution issues. The study highlights the challenges faced by each country, such as political commitment, resource allocation, and community involvement, and provides recommendations for improving policy implementation, including the need for specific targets, institutional arrangements, and integrated socio-economic approaches. The findings emphasize the importance of reducing population growth through family planning, education, and improved health services, while also addressing spatial redistribution and agricultural productivity.
