Abstract
Benita Maria Ferrero-Waldner, who assumed today her post as the United Nations Chief of Protocol, most recently served as Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, with special responsibility for official visits to the country's president and its Minister for Foreign Affairs.
