Zambia is a landlocked country situated between latitudes 80 and 180 south of the equator and 220 and 340 east longitudes. Zambia has central geographical position between seven most important maize growing Lusaka MULPOC countries: Angola, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Total area of the country is approximately 753,000 sq. km. of the total land area, the land available for cultivation is about 42 million hectares, of which only 7 million hectares are under cultivation.
