Three-day Seminar on image of United Nations in South Africa concludes (8 - 10 February). The central focus of the seminar was the educational system and the "successor" generation of South African youth. Its objective was to assess the perception of the United Nations in the country, as reflected in South African textbooks and other channels of communication. The need for South Africa to include teaching about the United Nations in school curricular and for the world organization to establish, in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a university chair of united Nations studies, were among the main recommendations of the seminar on the image of the United Nations in South Africa, which ended on February 10.
