The US government on Monday in Addis Ababa pledged to increase support to the work of United Nations in Africa by re-engaging and working closely with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and committing to the UN/AU Ten Year Capacity Building Programme (TYCPB), according to the Information and Communication Service of ECA. Conveying the pledge during a working visit to the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa where she addressed a Special Session of the African Union Permanent Representatives Committee, US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton declared that the US would assist in the context of the UN support for the African Union, especially through the TYCPB.
