Janneh receives Nigeria's new ambassador to Ethiopia and ECA

Welcoming the Ambassador to Ethiopia and ECA, Mr. Janneh said ECA had a long history of collaboration with Nigeria and recalled the service of Professor Adebayo Adedeji, former ECA Executive Secretary, under whom the Lagos Plan of Action was formulated before it became a regional plan. Ambassador Lolo acknowledged the role that ECA has played in advancing the economic and social development of African countries and pledged the continued support of Nigeria for the Commission as well as for the joint Secretariat of ECA, AfDB and AUC. Ambassador Lolo has a long history of diplomatic career and as an international negotiator. He was appointed by the President of the General Assembly to facilitate the negotiation of the draft resolution on the development component of the 2005 World Summit Outcome.
