Promoting the development of productive capacities in Africa

Abstract

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is organizing an “ Ad-hoc Expert Group Meeting on Macroeconomic Policy, Productive Capacity and Growth in Africa” in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 24-25 November 2008. The main aim of this meeting, which will be attended by experts from Africa and the rest of the world, is to provide a platform for the discussion of various dimensions of productive capacity development in Africa. It will also facilitate an exchange of views on policies to promote productive capacities on the continent within the context of national development plans and strategies.
