Abstract
Less than a day to the arrival of world leaders who are expected to consider and endorse the Rio+20 outcome document, the African Group of Negotiators here says it is finally making crucial progress on some testy areas of the outcome documents. They expressed the hope that host Government, Brazil, would take steps to accommodate Africa's other priority concerns, according to Information and communication Service of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) monitoring the negotiations. Negotiations are gathering speed here after Brazil announced that it would not have heads of state coming to Rio bogged down with negotiating an outcome document that should have been concluded prior to their arrival.
