First phase of ACPC workshop series on meteorological data to cover five African countries

The initial phase of ACPC workshop series on meteorological data opened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this morning and will soon extend four other African countries, ECA’s Director for the Division of Food Security and Sustainable Development announced here today. Dr Josué Dioné was speaking at the opening session of a 2-day national workshop on upgrading hydro-meteorological networks and rescuing historical hydro-meteorological data which kicked of in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this morning. According to the Information and Communication Service of ECA, Dr Dioné welcomed the decision by Ethiopia to host this novel initiative which ECA plans to extend to Gambia, Mali, Mozambique and Rwanda within the next few months.
