In remarks delivered at Conference on the theme, Inequalities in the context of structural transformation, in Accra, Ghana. Africa’s last two decades of fast and consistent economic growth have not yet succeeded in translating economic gains into commensurate social development outcomes. Many of our economies are dependent on the production and export of primary commodities and that far too many are highly unequal. The meeting learned that the United Nations High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda recommended that the new agenda be guided by the vision of eradicating extreme poverty once and for all in the context of sustainable development.
