Statement by H.E. Mr. Soulaymane Cissé, Minister of Planning of Guinea and Chairperson of the outgoing Bureau of the Conference at the the 5th Joint Annual Meetings of the AU Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and ECA Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development. H. E. Mr. Cissé, on is remarks highlighted that, This conference has become the most important meeting place for African Ministers of finance, planning and economic development. The themes of the conference have been carefully chosen to tackle the serious challenges to the advancement of our economic development agenda. It is an important complement to the ongoing reforms to enhance prospects for rapid growth and poverty reduction. To strengthen Africa’s economic performance, infrastructure development should be key priority. The development of infrastructure is, therefore, imperative in extending markets in the region and enhancing the competitiveness of the businesses.
