Considering that of a total of 16 African countries included among the least developed countries in the world 10 are land –locked, that the geographical position of those countries constitutes a grave
obstacle and a serious handicap to the growth of their trade and economic and social development,in particular that this situation gives rise to high transport costs, which prevent such countries from exporting their products at competitive prices, and a steady rise in the price of their imports.
