dc.description.abstractThe objectives of the present paper are two-fold: firstly to experiment with the new techniques, and secondly, to estimate the relevant mortality indices for the three countries (Libya, Tanzania and Kenya) under study. The merits and demerits of the methods employed will be indicated. Besides the socio-economic implications of the derived mortality estimates will be examined.en
