The Fourth meeting of the Sub-Regional Committee for the integration of women in the Development process was held from 5 to 8 February 1985 at the Headquarters of the Togolese People Rally (Rassemblement du Peuple Togolais) in Lome (Republic of Togo). The objective of this meeting was to consider not only the progress achieved and the problems encountered in the implementation of the work programme defined during the 3rd session of the Sub-Regional Committee but also the implementation of the scenarios of the Arusha Strategy for the West African Sub-Region. The meeting also had to analyze the revised record on the institution framework which govern the relations between the various organ established to promote the integration of Women in Development.
