In the report which the UN Secretary General made to the economic and Social Council in 1967 on Development and Utilization of Human Resources. in Developing countries, there is reference to the importance of good · health for the development of the much needed socioeconomic infrastructure "Adequate health ca.re and food and favorable environmental factors not only do much to ensure the welfare of pre-school children but effect the extent to which they can benefit from the early education process in the home and. the preparation for formal education. The health and well-being of the family, especially of the mother, also have an influence on the quality of care and, training which children receive at home, For young people undergoing education or vocational training, heal the and nutrition factors continue to be important for the successful completion of their studies.
